Account Deletion — VeteransConnect
Last updated: June 11, 2026
At VeteransConnect, you are always in control of your data. You can permanently delete your account and all associated information at any time. This page explains how.
Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)
Open the VeteransConnect app.
Go to the Tools tab.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
Confirm when the warning appears.
Your registration, password, email, profile, and reviewer access are immediately wiped from the device, and you’re returned to the registration screen. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
Option 2 — Request deletion from the web
If you no longer have the app installed, you can request deletion directly:
Email support@veteransconnect.app from the address tied to your account.
Use the subject line: Account Deletion Request.
Include the email or member name associated with your account so we can verify ownership.
We will verify your identity, process the request, and confirm by email when it’s complete.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
* Your registration and membership details
* Your email address and password
* Your profile information and uploaded content (posts, gallery images, journal entries)
* Your battle-buddy roster and connections
* Any reviewer or admin access
What we may retain
We may retain a limited set of records only where required by law or for legitimate safety purposes, such as:
Records related to reports of abuse, safety, or crisis incidents, kept for a limited period to protect our community.
Aggregated, anonymized data that can no longer identify you.
These records are never used to re-create your account or contact you.
How long it takes
In-app deletion: immediate.
Web/email requests: processed within 30 days of identity verification, usually much sooner. You’ll receive a confirmation when complete.
